Held at Cavo Rooftop on the opening night of Web Summit, this pitch night combines live startup presentations, jury feedback, drinks, and an afterparty overlooking the Tagus River.

Web Summit opening night on a Lisbon rooftop: meet founders and investors from around the world, with drinks, live pitches and a DJ. For the 8th time, we’re bringing founders and investors together on the opening night of Web Summit. Over the last 3 editions, nearly 800 guests from 37 countries joined us. More than half were founders, and 1 in 10 was an investor.

Who should attend

Startup founders looking to connect ahead of the conference rush will find value here, especially those seeking investor feedback or peer advice. It also works well for early-stage teams wanting to test their narrative before stepping onto broader conference stages in Lisbon.

What happens

Proceedings begin at 18:00 with drinks and networking, followed by an evening pitch training session powered by Hanza Group from 19:00 to 20:30. Selected founders receive three minutes on stage to pitch before a live jury, with the final half hour reserved for an open mic. An afterparty with a DJ set runs until 02:00.

Who's in the room

Around 300 innovators, entrepreneurs, and investors gather on the rooftop. Past editions have drawn participants from dozens of countries, with founders making up more than half the crowd and investors representing approximately one in ten attendees.

How to prepare

Apply for a pitching slot when securing your ticket, ensuring your three-minute deck clearly defines your problem, solution, and traction. Bring concise talking points for informal conversations, and review attendees you might want to cross paths with later in the summit week.
