Investor EQD - Abu Dhabi gathers institutional investors in multi-asset, quantitative, volatility, and absolute return strategies for two days in the UAE capital.

EQDerivatives returns to the UAE for the third annual Investor EQD - Abu Dhabi, bringing together leading academics and practitioners for a unique gathering of institutional investors active in multi-asset, quantitative, volatility and absolute return strategies.

Founder brief

Who should attend

Founders building quantitative finance, risk, or asset management tools targeting sovereign wealth funds, family offices, pension funds, and institutional allocators will find relevant decision-makers here. The content focuses sharply on institutional derivatives, absolute return strategies, and sophisticated portfolio implementation rather than early-stage venture building.

What happens

Both days feature structured main sessions interspersed with dedicated networking coffee breaks, an organized lunch on day one, and an evening networking reception starting at 5:00 pm. Presentations and discussions address multi-asset portfolio strategies, quantitative modeling, and investment risk directly from major fund leaders and academic researchers.

Who's in the room

Around 165 attendees participate across buy-side and sell-side institutions. The speaker roster features senior allocators and analysts from organizations including Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, Blackrock, Emirates Investment Authority, Abu Dhabi Pension Fund, Qatar National Bank, Duke University, and Church Commissioners for England.

How to prepare

Without pitch stages available, focus on conversational networking during the coffee breaks, lunch, and the evening reception. Arrive ready to discuss quantitative methodologies, risk management frameworks, and multi-asset performance metrics at an institutional level rather than delivering a consumer or general software pitch.
