Collider Cup XIX is UC Berkeley's semester showcase where top student teams compete for funding opportunities and the Collider Cup trophy.

The Collider Cup is SCET's all-star showcase of the best student teams each semester. Come watch teams pitch to panels of professors, investors and industry experts as they vie to win the grand prize, the Collider Cup! Every semester we partner with an investment fund/angel investors who offer our students an opportunity for potential funding of their startup/student venture.

Founder brief

Who should attend

Student founders, university innovators in deep tech, software, and hardware, and members of the UC Berkeley startup community should consider attending. It also suits early-stage founders looking to evaluate fellow collegiate ventures and connect with university-aligned investors.

What happens

The afternoon opens with a one-hour Startup Expo where attendees help vote on teams. From 14:00 to 16:00, top student ventures pitch directly to judges. The day concludes with an hour of networking alongside light refreshments.

Who's in the room

The audience and judging panels consist of UC Berkeley professors, angel investors, industry experts, and partner funds like PearVC and Alchemist Accelerator, alongside student founders competing from across the Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology.

How to prepare

Review the competing sectors in deep tech, software, and hardware beforehand to decide which projects to explore during the expo. If you are networking, prepare a clear one-minute introduction about your current venture to share with attending investors and peers during the final reception.
